Mumbai :- Jamnabai Narsee School Trustee Mr. Sujay Jairaj and Abhishek Bachchan inaugurated the world class multi-sport court at Jamnabai Narsee School, on Jan 4, 2015, to be used for all ball games and hockey. The state of the art outdoor,
flood lit court is made with imported material and rubberised flooring according to NBA standards and dimensions. This will not only enhance sporting skills and pleasure, but ensure safety for the 5000 strong JNS student community.
Abhishek Bachchan hit the jump ball and played a basketball match along with the JNS teams and ex-students teams. Guests like Preeti Jhangiani , Parvin Dabas, Rouble Nagi, Bunty Walia were seen cheering the students along with hosts Sujay Jairaj & his wife Minal.
Abhishek said, “Sports in Jamnabai Narsee School is curricular, not extra.”
Over the years JNS has produced athletes, skaters, gymnasts, badminton, table tennis, taekwondo, chess, kudo and aquatic sports persons of international recognition. The school has reached national level in Athletics, Football, Handball, Basketball and Cricket.
Coaching on school facilities is carried out throughout the year. Great encouragement is given to sports by the management. Concessions on curricular hours at school is given to all sports persons attending professional coaching.
According to Sujay Jairaj, trustee, “The overall development of ‘India’ as a country - the dream of India Vision 2020 by our former revered President of India - can only be accomplished by giving a strong foundation to our youth. Any K-12 School with time needs to change the technology, infrastructure, systems, procedures and everything that is tangible. But what should remain constant here is our values, our culture & our philosophy – creating an Indian school with International Standards.”
